Sara Ramirez

Sara Ramirez, a Mexican-American singer and actress is very well-known. Sara Ramirez was brought up with her American mother. She was subjected to a variety of racist taunts and caused her to feel uncomfortable. It was during her ninth year that she started to feel more confident after being highly praised in an audition. This not only increased the confidence of her, but was also a change in the direction in which she went on to pursue her professional career. In 1992 she graduated with her diploma from the New York's Julliard School. Her professional career began when she was 23 years old, appearing in Paul Simon's The Capeman on Broadway and the film You've Got Mail. In the Broadway original production of Spamalot she portrayed the Lady of The Lake and won both the Tony Award as well as critical praise. Later in the same year she was cast in the ABC program Grey's Anatomy as Dr. Callie Torres and gained wider appreciation for her performance. In addition to having a cult following as a singer, she released a solo and an extended piece. Also, she is an activist and works extensively for LGBT rights.
