Zoe-perry
Perry was born on July 25, 1968 in Chicago, Illinois to Laurie Metcalf Perry and Jeff Perry. The character Jackie Harris was played by her mom in both of the two episodes she appeared on Roseanne. Her parents, however, did not allow her to act until she reached the age of adulthood due to the negative effects that stress could affect their child. Perry stated that she was too timid to perform at the age of 16, but she began performing in the theater at Northwestern University as a way to meet new people after she transferred from Boston University. When she graduated, Perry moved in New York to search for jobs on television, landing small parts on series such as Law & Order: Criminal Intent however, her homesickness led Perry back home to California which is where she discovered theater work. Perry starred with her mother on stage in The Other Place at Broadway the previous year. In 2015, she starred with Kevin McKidd alongside her mother in Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prizewinning drama Anna Christie. Odyssey Theatre Ensemble Odyssey Theatre Ensemble is located in West Los Angeles. Perry was a part of the drama's nine episodes from 2016 on the ABC drama The Family. In 2017, she played a recurring role on her own ABC Political thriller Scandal which starred her father. The actress also portrayed in the role of a younger Mary Cooper in Young Sheldon, a CBS spin-off from The Big Bang Theory. The role was selected via auditions though she had a close relationship with the show.
